Although it is a durable gem type, it does require some extra care. They are sensitive to pressure and vulnerable to household chemicals.

As with all gemstones always remove morganite gems before exercising, cleaning or engaging in vigorous physical activities. Morganite can easily scratch other gems and also be easily scratched by harder gems such as sapphire and spinel or other hard materials.
